Butter Free Rice Krispies

Butter Free Rice Krispies ee

Ingredients:

  • 5 cups Rice Krispie cereal
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1/3 cup caramel sauce

The caramel sauce will replace the butter, although I am sure you could use many other substitutes in place of the butter. You basically need an ingredient that will help to melt the marshmallows in the pan without burning them.

1. On medium heat in a sauce pan, combine the caramel sauce and mini marshmallows. Continue to stir and to watch them melt as this can happen fast once they are at the right temperature 🙂

2. Mix in the rice krispies slowly while still stirring. This can be done in the sauce pan to conserve dishes.

You can then place these into a greased pan to form them into bars. You can also use cookie cutters to form them into shapes.
