Chocolate Dipped Pretzels

It’s the holiday season! Along with that comes parties! A few weeks back right after Savannah and I arrived in Maine we went to a holiday party and needed to bring a sweet treat. My mom was thinking of chocolate dipped strawberries, but unfortunately strawberries are out of season.. especially in Maine. So we bought pretzel rods. This is so fun, and there are so many different variations of colors and sprinkles that you can use for any themed party, holiday or event.

We bought Ghiradelli white and milk chocolateΒ from our grocery store. We found it in the baking section near the chocolate chips and flour. The instructions for melting the chocolate are really easy and written out on the bag. We used the double boiler method which kept the chocolate melted without burning it for a good 30 minutes while we were able to do all of our pretzels.

Just make sure to watch your chocolate and to stir it occasionally!

imageimageDip your pretzel rods into the chocolate and then roll or sprinkle them with your favorite sprinkles. You could use chopped nuts, small candies, pieces of fruit.. whatever you would like! We then put our chocolate dipped rods in the freezer for about 2 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden faster, but I am sure you could let them harden without the freezer…we were just in a hurry πŸ™‚
