Phew, its been a while hasn’t it?
As most of you know, Sierra and I took about a 2000 mile road trip a couple weeks ago. We started off in Maine and arrived here in Florida about five days later… Although I’m sure everyone wants to hear everything that we did on our wonderful 30 hour drive, I will spare you the details and get to the exciting stuff.
Since we had a little time to spare, Sierra and I decided to make a few pit stops on our way down the coast. (These are not listed in order)…
Our first big stop was Philly. We only had a few hours, so we parked, walked around downtown, and then grabbed a bite to eat at a cool Mexican restaurant.
After dinner, we found an ice cream shop called Scoop DeVille. You get to choose your flavor and tons of toppings, and they basically make you a customized blizzard!
Our next stop was Charlotte, NC. Sierra really wanted to stop there because her favorite two bloggers, SimplyTarylnn and PBFingers, live and blog there.
We saw some pretty cool stuff, but we had to keep moving. Next stop, Washington DC! We went there mainly for the cupcakes, but realized that Georgetown was a really fun place! Of course, there was a huge line at Georgetown Cupcakes, but we persevered!
Sierra and I split a chocolate cupcake and bought some extras to share. Since we were in the cupcake capital, we had to make another cupcake stop. We went to Sprinkles Cupcakes and picked out the red velvet flavor. The cupcakes were really tasty, made for Hollywood even! 🙂
We also walked to the waterfront and saw some beautiful views, as well as the oldest house in Georgetown!
Our last major stop was Covington, Georgia. Covington is the town where a lot of scenes in The Vampire Diaries are filmed and since Sierra and I are both major fans, we had to take the 4 hour detour! (If you haven’t watch the Vampire Diaries, you probably will not find this very intriguing 🙂 )
We saw the Mystic Grill and the clock tower where Katherine tries to commit suicide
We also spotted the Gilbert House, The Lockwood Mansion, Caroline’s house, and the graveyard where Elena and Stefan meet for the first time!
We were both freaking out and had some major fangirl moments, especially when we found Dr. Gilbert’s office with the original stickers and everything.
We had a great time on our road trip and saw so many towns and landmarks that we have been wanting to visit. We also managed to take some car selfies 🙂
Stay tuned for another post about the food we ate during our trip!
