We came up with another healthy rice krispy recipe, but with a 4th of July twist!

We started off with the secret ingredient: apple butter. We used this instead of butter and it gives the rice krispies a really unique, sweet flavor.

We started out by putting the apple butter and marshmallows together into a teflon pan and heating them until they melted together.

Then we poured the mixture into our rice crispies and placed them into a pan, to help hold their shape.

Make sure you top with whipped cream, pitted cherries, and some blue sprinkles!

  1. I am reading your blog and admiring the festive lights circling the bucket with the lobster painted on the front! Not sure about the apple butter rice crispies…
Just sent email to your parents to say Wes and I cannot come to ME next week. I hope you haven’t spent too much time de-spicing all those Sisters Hot Recipes! You can send the wimpy versions to me and I’ll try them here. Really!
Happy Independence Day to our Down East Contingent,
